I cannot believe we are into the THIRD month of the 52 Week Illustration Challenge .
This is what I have managed to do for March’s themes…..
Week 10 – Pattern
I found ‘Pattern’ a rather challenging topic, I had visions of some graphic design work, with clean lines, repeating patterns – but it just isn’t how I naturally work. So, I thought I would stick with what I am comfortable with, and then create a pattern with the illustration. These are the two illustrations I began with….
Then I scanned them into Photoshop and created a mirror pattern!
Week 11 – Architecture
Thinking about architecture a little differently, I created two 3D versions….
I am obsessed with all things miniature and I had a lot of fun creating the template to make a ‘mini matchbox house’.
This mini house inspired my youngest son (3 yrs old) to build his own doll’s house. So using some old boxes we made this…..it kept him busy playing for hours!
Continuing with my ‘collage’ experimentation with the week before, I created this ‘architecture’ piece.
Week 12 – Numbers
This particular week was very busy for me as my hubby completed his very first Melbourne Ironman race. For those who don’t know the Ironman race is an extreme sport that requires a 12 mth training plan and lots of training hours. Inspired by this event I created this…..
Another love of mine is ‘letter boxes’….
Week 13 – Water
A quick warm up sketch –
Inspired by my son’s teddy that is desperate for a wash in water….
I’m really looking forward to April’s themes!
Staying creative,
