Who is Nicky Johnston?
Nicky is an accomplished, award-winning illustrator with a unique and recognisable style. She has over 20 years illustration experience with over 40 children’s books published in Australia and overseas. She is highly expeienced in custom portraits, children’s book illustrations and as a live artist.

Can I organise frames?
That is a fantastic idea! Absolutely yes.
Supply Nicky with a quantitiy of frames and she can pop them inside before the guests collect.
What a thoughtful and special way to thank your guests and show how much you appreciate their presence on your special day.
What do you need at the event?
All Nicky requires is an allocated table and chair to set up her illustration station. She will bring all her art equipment with her.
Can the guests watch and chat?
The guests don’t need to wait for their artwork, however, they absolutely can watch Nicky in progress and chat with Nicky.
Can you paint groups?
Yes, absolutely. However, only one person will be able to take home the artwork.
Nicky recommends singles or couples in each artwork to ensure the everyone recieves a personalised painting.
Will all guests recieve artwork?
On average each artwork takes 8-10mins to complete. This will vary depending on the complexity of the fashion worn by the guests and how much interactions the guests wish to have with her.
Nicky will paint as many portraits as she can at the event, any photos not painted, Nicky will complete in her studio and send to you in the following days.
You can either have your guests collect the artworks as they are completed or opt for all of them to be given to you, so you can send as thankyou gifts after your wedding.
Nicky has never met a guest who did NOT want to be painted!
How is the artwork made?
Nicky (or her assistant) will take photos of your guest on their arrival.
All artworks are painted with professional artist’s watercolour paints and pencil on A6 size 300gsm quality watercolour paper.
Individually signed and packaged in a protective cello bag for safe keeping.
Do you charge for travel?
Nicky is located in Langwarrin, Victoria
Travel fees are added depending on your Venue location. Nicky will let you know if this is required.
How long does an artwork take?
On average, Nicky can complete a portrait in 8 – 10 minutes. However, she works on a few portraits at any one time (to allow for drying time). It is the most time efficient way to work to complete the desired number of artworks at an event.
Nicky loves to chat to interested guests also – if all the photos are not completed on the day, she will paint them in her studio and send them to you in the following days.
Can I include a message or personalise the artworks?
Absolutley, Nicky has her own unique way for personalisation. Printed transclucent slip that the artwork sits in when in the cellophane packaging can be printed with your names/wedding date, or message/date, or anything that you would like! Accompanied by a little jewel, this allows your guests to have your message entwined with their artwork.

Yes of course! Nicky can provide an initial quote and information and organise a video catch up or phone call to discuss finer details, answer any questions you may have and generally ensure you are happy to have her help you celebrate your special event.
